Limiting Print Editions
Historically, when an art medium - i.e. woodblock prints, engravings, and lithographs - allowed for multiple copies, those following the first one were likely to deteriorate in quality due to the physical deterioration of the wood, stone, metal, screen, etc. So, all other factors being equal, prices increased the closer you got to the original or first copy of the work. Additionally, by the artist limiting the number of copies, collectors and investors had some assurance that their investment was likely to at least retain its value in the marketplace and hopefully appreciate. To these folks, the value of the print to some degree was commensurate to its resale value. With modern technology, each iteration of a photographic print can be an exact version of the first one. While I love the idea of a single print of mine some day selling for enough money to pay for six month's shooting in my favorite place, I value even more anyone who really enjoys my images being able to afford them. Hence, I do not limit the editions of my work. In editions at 20x24 and larger, I number each print and increase the price when each edition sells out. This way, the larger sizes will increase in value over time, meeting my need to pay the mortgage, and collector's/investor's needs to see the value of their print appreciate.

About the Prints
All prints begin life as large or medium format film and are created on archival papers or canvas using pigmented inks. I use fine art photographic papers which include Epson Premium Photo Luster, Enhanced Matte, and Arches Infinity™, a French mold-made paper designed specifically for making fine photographic prints. Images on canvas are made using Breathing Color™ Brilliance Chromata White, a museum-grade canvas designed for archival printing. Canvas prints have a proprietary coating that protects them from degrading UV light, moisture and abrasion.

Shipping is done via FedEx or UPS unless otherwise requested. Shipping costs are the actual charges plus packaging costs. I final quote will be offered before shipping if you like.

1. Unless requested otherwise, canvas prints are gallery wrapped.
2. Print sizes are nominal and may vary depending on print aspect ratio. Please inquire for the exact print size or if you need a specific size not listed.
3. Prints at 11x14 and smaller and all gallery wrapped canvas prints are shipped flat, and images larger than 11x14 are shipped rolled.
4. Matts are acid free, 100% cotton and museum mounted using linen t-hinged tape. Large prints can be vacumn mounted if you prefer.
5. All media is archival and the paper/canvas and pigmented ink combinations are rated by an independent lab at a minimum of 70 years before noticeable fading or color shifting occurs.
6. Not all images will retain sufficient detail for a fine art print above 32x40. Please inquire about the particular print you are interested in.
